Jillian's 3DS weight gain??

While doing Jillian michaels 30 day shred,i seem to be gaining weight does this happen initially? itz been a week.My calves and arms are getting bigger.Any ideas why? Also how many lb hand weight do u recommend using? 3lbs or 5 lbs??Thanks guys....

    When you are starting a new workout your body may gain water weight. It's not fat weight unless you are eating a TON of food! 3500 calories is a lb.

    Your muscles are probably retaining water. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Make sure you are eating enough calories. Make sure you aren't eating too much sodium.

    A week isn't a good length of time to judge. Use whatever size weights feel best for you - not too light but not too heavy.
  • I'm two weeks into the 30 day shred and have gained 1lb and had one week where I stayed the same.
    That being said, I am losing inches and my arms are looking much more toned

    I'd definitely recommend taking some measurements I you aren't already. That is keeping me motivated even though the scale isn't moving in the right direction :-)
