Always rely on measurements more than your eyes, sometimes what we see in the mirror is an illusion, whereas the tape-measure is there in black and white.

Regarding your question though, yes I have had that happen more than a few times to me lol.

I just continue with my eating and exercise, because by continuing, come the next week's weigh-in some more weight should come off.

Yes. I'm pretty neurotic about my weight and I know I really should NOT look at the scale daily, but I do. If the number is going down, I feel attractive and healthy and like a winner. If the number goes up, I feel fat and discouraged and all I want to do is EAT to make myself feel better.

What makes a difference for me is exercise. After a good workout I feel good about myself - positive, accomplished, capable - and it helps me keep on going.
  • thank you for that piece of advice. I look at my scale all the time as well and I know it is something I shouldnt do. I guess I find myself feeling fat especially on days I eat stuff I shouldnt eat.

I feel fat every day...when I get dressed in the morning I just think eww and even when I'm 10 lbs lighter I still picture myself 10 lbs heavier!

Oh i sure do, i just have to realize that in time i will look in the mirror and see what i want to see, i love to try on cloths and when i see i am getting closer to getting the pants zipped, or buttoning a blouse then i know i am making progress. But i agree the mirror lies lots!!! LOL Keep up the great work!!!
  • I feel the same way except I feel good about my hard work and all skinny and healthy and cute and then I look in the mirror :-/

Feeling good is what is important, I know. But looking good isn't a bad thing!

just remember that you didn't put all the weight in one day & it won't all come off in one day either. every single day you are working towards your goal of a healthier, slimmer you, you ARE making a difference...whether its discernible to the naked eye or not. add up all those days of little changes and fast forward one month, two or more and the change will be noticable! think of it as time lapse photography of a flower....you are a beautiful bloom just waiting to happen! :flowerforyou:
  • Aaw Sister I feel your pain. I've been losing but just the other day I took a full body pic cause I "felt" skinny, but clearly the picture told differently. So will continue my journey, fustration is apart of the process. Lifestyle change is never easy but you can do it girl.

Totally. I was fat all of my life and I ballooned in my late teens to over 21st. Now I've lost 10st and I still feel fat all the time. It doesn't help that my skin's ruined and I look like a half-deflated Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon.
It doesn't matter though, because even if I hadn't ruined my body and I had a killer figure I'd still hate the way i look. As women we're conditioned to do so at some degree.
Just hang in there. Don't let it overwhelm you and know that, while the feelings return, they also pass.

Yes, about fourteen times a day. And looking back, wow, I remember being 110 and wanting to be 105, being 112 and wanting to be 107, 115 and wanting to be 110, 117 and wanting to be 112, 120 and wanting to be 115. You don't know what you've got til it's gone.

All the time. And a lot of times I think I look better than I do, until I look in the mirror. I feel like everyone around me is skinnier than me, even though it's just not true. It's something with I struggle with almost every day, but I'm working hard on not feeling that way anymore, I'm pretty, I have someone who thinks I'm beautiful, and soon I will be thin.
