If I ate X amount of calories in 5 weeks & was X weight. If I carried on eating that amount of calories, would I put more weight in further weeks to come or stay the same weight?
I'm not the best at explaining myself sorry.
I'm trying to recover from anorexia, & freaking out right now! I want to put weight in stages.

I think once you start to gain, you will need more calories to continue gaining at the same rate. When you're heavier your body burns more calories just functioning. Just as with weight loss (where you have to adjust your calorie requirements down as you lose weight), I assume that you will have to adjust your calories up as you gain weight.0

Thank you! So in other words once I reach that weight in 5 weeks by eating X amount of calories, I'd have to up my calories for the next amount of weeks?0

not necessarily. it depends on your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and how much you are eating; and whether your metabolism is speeding up after being slowed down from long term undereating previously.0

I don't want to put on too much weight. A month ago I put on 6lbs from binging.
I only get weighed once every 6 weeks so it's really hard to tell.0 -

Thank you, I do have my own dietician. I've had her for over 2 years but I only get to see her once every 6 weeks so I have to fight on my own most of the time.0 -
I'm really happy to hear that I suffered some mild e.d. when I was younger. I know its a very psychological as well as a physiological obstacle to overcome. I'm sending you all my hope and love (yup through this computer screen).0

Yes. It was 18 years ago for me. Lots of therapy and tears. I still have body issues. But I'm worlds away from where I was and you'll be too. This site is so skinny obsessed when it should be about health and fitness. I hope it doesn't interfere with your progress. Not to be all weird and zen and ****... but you should really do yoga! Lots of people have advised me to do yoga but I'm the type of perfectionist who won't try anything out of fear of failure.0 -
You can't fail at yoga... get Baron Babtiste Journey into Power level 1 on dvd (its less than $10). I've been going through a lot of personal drama and i swear its keeping me sane.0

One thing great about MFP is that it will recalculate the number of calories you need for you. What I'd suggest is redoing your numbers every time you gain 5 lbs. And, don't forget to log your exercise and eat the calories back. You'll have some days where it might be really hard to eat all the calories you should - that's actually normal for people with and without eating disorders. Do your best and try to have some high calorie/good nutrition snacks around to help. Nuts are fantastic for this. Another is plain Chobani Greek yogurt with some maple syrup (the real stuff, not imitation) thrown in for flavor. Chobani has a lot of protein- which you'll need for muscle growth. And, the maple syrup will help increase the calories a bit.0

Thank you. I have no problem with not eating enough ha. All through my anorexia I've gorged on chocolate. Just swapped chocolate for meals.0 -

In the beginning, you will pack on the pounds pretty much no matter what you do. It's hard, it sucks, it is scary as all get out. But it HAS to be done.
Make every bite count. Healthy food, mild exercise ( I don't know what you weigh right now, or if you're cleared for exercise. I wasn't, for a while ).
No binging. No starving. No replacing real food with fake food ( water, cookies, anything in a package, etc )0 -

I'm too lazy to exercise. I'm not your average anorexic ha.
I have no control over my binges, it feels like someone has taken over me.
