17 Day Diet

Options
Has anyone had success with the 17 Day Diet? I joined MFP today. I am looking for a program that will help me get the rest of my weight off. I have lost about 110 pounds and kept it off for about 2 years. I plateaued and took time off and simply maintained. I have another 35 to go. I need a new plan. It seems like the calorie-counting thing is what MFP pushes. I am not sure how to integrate carbs into my diet. Any input is appreciated.

I can tell you that I have had success with the 17 day diet. I started on Jan 1 and by Jan 31 I had lost 20 pounds. I got sick with a respiratory infection, so I did not follow and only lost 1 pound. I have started back today now that I am feeling better. I was almost through the 2 17day cycle. I like it and plan to continue. I have I have about 66 pounds to go. I plan on doing this by July 1.

It is a book that follows low carb with high protein. It slowly introduces carbs and the rest of food into your eating habit. It is 4 cycles of 17 days. For me, it is easy to follow and the food is easy to find. You actually start on the plan with high protein and 17 minutes of exercise a day. I hope this helps.

I'm just not a fan of anything that has an "end"... for me, getting fit was a for-the-rest-of-my-life diet.

There is not an end to it - it is a lifestyle change. It's learning to eat healthy and committing to it.

I have the book but haven't started the program. Maybe I should take another look at it.

Hi : ) I am on the 17DD - I am on Cycle 1 Day 11 and have lost 8lbs ! The first 5 days were very tough as I had a bad case of sugar/carb withdrawal but I read that it can take up to 10 days so I told myself I can give it 10 day and I have and I feel amazing. You are not starving yourself in the least !! I am doing this with my husband (who has lost 12lbs) and my SIL (who has also lost 12lbs) and we are always full and satisfied!

I would recommend this to anyone.
