I have a treadmill, BOSU, Coreboard, 5 lb, 10lb, 15 lb and 25 lb kettlebells, dumbbells ranging from 3 lb all the way to 20 lbs, tons of resistance bands, pull up bar, yoga mat, aerobic step, stability balls of various sizes along with over 88+ workout videos.

I still have a gym membership but I get more out of my workouts at home than I would if I went to the gym.
  • Jump rope! Don't know what I would do without mine - its a great cardio exercise and sharpens your agility. Only about 4 bucks at Target!

I love going to the gym because I feel like I push myself harder, but what that said I often workout at home when I don't feel like driving there, or if I've left my dogs alone too long already during the day! I've collected a lot of stuff over the years...

    treadmill
    15 and 20 # kettlebell
    5, 8, 10, 12 # dumbbells
    8, 10 # medicine balls
a bosu - which is that blue, half bubble thing, it's awesome!
jump rope - best $5 I ever spent
    ankle weights
TV with a DVD player and I have p90x, Insanity, Jillian Michaels DVD's, ChaLean, biggest loser DVD's
resistance bands - these also are cheap and SUPER effective
a Bowflex - got from a friend, my fiance uses it mostly

My friend posted a BOSU workout online last week. I was IMPRESSED. I have used it several times in workout classes but the video put more light on how to use it. I might have to get one SOON!

I have 5lb weights, resistance bands, YOUTUBE workout videos and (2) pair of sneakers!

    Squat rack with weights
    Pull up bar
    Dumbbells
    Flat bench

    Bike with trainer for cardio
  • I haven't got anything yet, but I walk around a few blocks, and I'm saving up for a punching bag and an elliptical.

just a suggestion, but have you tried looking on craigs list for the punching bag or eliptical? i purchased my heavy bag (75 lb) with stand and speed bag attachment w/ speedbag for $75. the stand and components were still wrapped in plastic as if it was brand new. just a suggestion. good luck.

Bowflex Trreadclimber. Its a but kicking workout. I do most of my working out at work (military). The Treadclimber is for extra cardio and for the wife to have.
  • *the iron gym pull up bar (i use it for chin ups and different types of push ups). better range of motion for a more effective push up.
    *dumbells
    *resistance bands

all above used for the p90x workout system.

All I'm using at home right now is an exercise mat, my DVDs, and weights! We have a spare bedroom and want to set it up for strength training- but as I perceive it, that can cost a lot.. we'll see!

One of he problems you may have with turning a bedroom over to strength training is the weight on the floorboards and cross beams.

If performing something like Starting Strength or 5x5 you will be squatting and dead lifting and you can reasonably expect to be lifting 150lb after a relatively short amount of time possibly more. UK upper floor rooms will not take a drop of that kind of weight let alone the additional weight of benches, power racks or squat racks.

    Aerobics step
    Dumbells and Barbells
    Kettlebells
    Resistance bands
    Push up stands
    Pull up bar.
    Jump rope
    75 cm ball
    workout bench
    TV and DVD player

I think we've covered all the bases with this equipment, I'd love a big punchbag but we're out of space now, If you hate big communal gyms like I do, its well worth the investment.

BTW, I get most of my cardio from running.

This is what my home gym looks like also. I have the adjustable dumbells by Rebock, called Speedpack. I really like them, they go from 2.5 to 25 pounds. I've had them for 2 years with no problems.

I also have a mirror, not cause I want to see myself, but to make sure I am using correct form and I do look to see if I'm toning or any of the fat rolls are declining.

Good advice, there was a heavy bag listed free in the Chicago Craigslist. I check Craigslist all the time.

I have a lot of stuff I've bought over the years and hardly used but now i am on a new diet/fitness regime with myfitnesspal I'am going to use it most of it, but not all on the same day.
i have a treadmill, exercise bike. gazelle machine, Reebok step, dumbbells, and a small trampoline.and exercise ball

twice a week i use a treadmill and Gazelle machine
twice a week i use the wii with myfitness coach with a Reebok step and 2 dumbbells or wii fit
twice a week i like to do some zumba workouts

I don't use the exercise bike as i find it very uncomfortable to sit on, but my Husband uses the bike a lot, but then he is Dutch..lol
and I never use the trampoline or the exercise ball because they are not put together yet and i don't have the room with all the other stuff...lol

    At home I mostly use:
-Fluid Trainer 2 from Cycleops (lets you take your normal bike and mount it to the trainer, a necessity anywhere winter stops normal outdoor cycling and much more comfortable than "regular"exercise bikes!)
    -Elliptical trainer
    -Chin-up bar
-Dumbbells with assorted weight plates, 7.5-60Lbs.
    -Exercise Ball
