Is anyone else here also using dancing as a form of exercise? I love dancing, mostly line dances, any recommendations of what I can add to my playlist?
I usually do:
Copperhead Road
The Electric Slide
Wobble
Just Fine (go hard or go home)

Im doing Zumba on the Wii and also at the Gym, I like the fact it makes me feel great. I have lost a lot of my weight with that and also logging my foods. It made me more aware of what I was actually eating. That was and still is my hardest part of actually getting fit and back in to a healthy lifestyle. Good Luck!! :bigsmile:0

I love turning on some good music and shaking my groove thing!!!0

Dancing is such a great way to exercise!! I've been belly dancing for four years, and I LOVE it. I highly recommend it to any lady looking to get some fun movement in her life. Not only will you sweat while dancing, the movements are sultry and empowering, and you just feel plain great when you're done. It's a beautiful art that happens to double as exercise. As far as calorie burn, as with anything, it depends on how much you put into it. Just dancing alone won't shed the pounds, but it combined with watching your calorie intake can lead to great results. I also love DDR and Just Dance for the Wii. They really are a great workout. I hear line dancing is a good one, too. Anything that you enjoy doing that also burns calories is good in my book. So glad to hear that other people are dancing, no matter what kind. I've never found something that makes sweating as much fun as dancing. Good luck to you and keep dancing. It's good for body, mind, and spirit. :flowerforyou:0

It's not really dancing, but I do ballet conditioning/barre workouts. I've been seeing some good results so far, and the best part is that I actually look forward to working out! It's so much fun!0

I use dance for a cardio workout, either the just dance games or freeform with some music. Any continuous body movement that elevates your heart rate is cardio, so your imagination is the only limit. That's the best part about dancing.0

I love dancing - such fun it hardly counts as exercise.0

I love Zumba! You don't really feel like you are exercising. Another good thing I have found is pull up Zumba on itunes and you will get tons of videos with different songs. I pick a new song every day and just shake my booty0

I'm trying to go out dancing at least every other week. Depending on what you're into and where you live there are probably places to try salsa, tango, blues, swing, country line dancing, etc etc etc. It's a great, fun, social activity and is also awesome for burning calories (you don't realize how long you've been moving!). I play Just Dance on the wii too, and also do the Dancing with the Stars fitness DVD's, but the real deal is so much more fun!0

I'm doing zumba two on the wii! I absolutely love it: and man I'm sore!0

I do! I love it. I put my ipod on and dance for at least 30 minutes. Usually I do it after I put my family to bed and take some alone time. I actually look forward to it. Good luck.0

I love line dancing! mainly to country music, but you can use whatever music you like that fits. Here's a couple I enjoy to the songs I do them to
'Tush Push' to There's your trouble - Dixie Chicks
'Cowboy Casanova' to Cowboy Casanova - Carrie Underwood (choreo by Earleen Wolford)
'Trashy Womer' to Trashy Women - Confederate Railroad
You can find them on youtube.
Have fun!!0 -

Check out the web site learn2dance4fun. This is for the Rockin Horse Dance Barn in Renton Wa. Look up line dancing classes. They have several different levels. On line you will find the step sheets and suggested music for each line dance. I take classes for the social network and exercise it's so much fun dancing to country or beach boys, black eyed peas etc. Have fun!0

Love copperhead road. I also like Mr. Blue Sky, ELO
Get's my toe tapping every time.0 -
I LOVE the Michael Jackson Experience and the Balck Eye Peas Experience for the Wii!!! You doesn't love MJ and that dude was SKINNY!!!! Just Dance and Zumba are good also!! If you like Country they have a Country Dance Version. Just got ABBA You Can Dance, but it isn't as high intensity so not my fav.....
My suggestion is to rent them first and then decide which ones you want to buy. Then find them at a Gamestop of CD Trading Post.0 -
I have Just Dance 2 & 3.. I recently borrowed my friends Wii fit board & Wii fit plus.. which its slowly getting boring.. Anybody ever try Dance Dance Revolution for the wii and seen results????0

Hi! Not sure if you check this post often anymore (probably not) but, Blurred Lines is a good one. There are some pretty good instructionals on You Tube also. Of course, there are different variations. :-)

My wife and I do some country dancing but I'm not sure how much exercise I would consider it. We can work-up a sweat sometimes but it's not bad I guess. I will say my calves tend to burn because I have to take small steps due to her being much shorter than me. "Slapping Leather" is fun and did that a while back, but it's been a while and have forgotten most of it.0
