Hello everyone,
I was just thinking about this and thought I'd post it here.
How much cardio do you guys normally do? and what is a good amount? Someone at my gym told me that it's only after the first 30 minutes of running/walking, does the "fat" begin to burn. Is this true?

I normally just do a cardio class like kickboxing or step for about 50 minutes a day.

Just wondering what you guys think :)

    bump :)
  • The general rule of thumb is anything after 30 minutes in the "fat burning zone" is when the body starts burning fat.

Any cardio is good in my opinion. I had great results without any cardio. Once you get your diet in check, calories burned from cardio is just icing on the cake!

okay, so basically it's only after the 30 minutes when the body started burning fat. So if I'm going for a run, I should push myself the most after the first 30 minutes?

i was told by numerous gym trainers that anything more than 30-40 minutes is not as beneficial. Dont ask me the science behind it, but ive had 3 or 4 trainers tell me this. cardio, then strength training afterwards. i do HIIT though, maybe its cause of that, cause with doing hiit is meant to be impossible to o longer than 30 mins. dont quote me.

I always strength train first. You want to have the most energy when lifting. I do about 30 minutes cardio after.
It really comes down to calories in - calories out.
