Serving size on package is dry, 2 oz or 1 cup cooked.

Generally, 2 oz dry equals 4 oz cooked.0

so, if i'm looking up pasta on the calorie counter to tot up my calories for the day on the site, do you think they are refering to the dry weight or the cooked weight?

I usually do 75g of raw pasta cooked per a person...and there is sometimes leftovers!0

this is the dry weight, and so is the cals on the packet.0 -
Measuring 75g worth of dry pasta equals around 270 calories. Hope this helps x0

This really confuses me too!!!!!!
I am same with jacket potatos to. Obviously before cooked it is alot heavier than when cooked.

while it is usually clear from the pasta package that it is dry weight, i am often puzzled with rice. the ones i buy don't specify and i have always assumed it is the cooked weight.0

It's impossible to find a correct dry weight total on here (at least I haven't found one) so I added my own based on the amounts given at a slimming club I used to go to. It's only a calorie amount though, not carbs etc.
50g dry weight pasta = 195 cals
100g potato uncooked weight for jackets = 75 cals
50g dry weight basmati rice = 185 cals

0.25 C dry long-grain white rice = 46.25 g = 169 calories
1 C cooked long-grain white rice = 158 g = 205 calories0 -
