Accurate Scale

I'm not obsessive about the scale but I really need to find an accurate scale for home. I've found that more often than not the home scales are inaccurate when compared to a gym or doctor's office scale. Anybody out there find a good scale that is fairly close and consistent to a gym or doctor's office scale? If so, please post brand name and model (if you have it) and where you bought it.

Thanks,
J

every scale seems to be different. I just stick with one to measure loss. As long as you are consistently measuring on the same scale, you will know if you are losing or gaining.

Scales are only accurate if they are calibrated on a regular basis. Ideally, doctors do that but that doesn't mean they do. Gym scales are notorious for not being well maintained and can often be incorrect.

Weight with the same scale each time and you will have a pretty good idea of your weight loss.

I have a Taylor digital/fat monitor/fancy schmancy one and thought it was working... until my boyfriend weighed himself out of the blue and insists that it's at least 20lbs out, saying we weigh more than we do. I use it just to measure loss/gain, but have heard that the old-fashioned ones (non-digital) work the best. I may try to track one down as this digital one may be affecting my goal weights...

Yeah, scales are tricky. The one at the gym is consistent with the two doctors that I have to see every couple months, so basically three scales that are within a pound or two of each other. I feel pretty good about the gym scale. The home scale I have now is 10lbs off of the gym / doctor's scale. I can just do an adjustment in my head but I'd rather just have a good scale. LOL
