A work in progress...50 lbs down with photos!

I joined My Fitness Pal in February of 2011 at the recommendation of a friend and never logged on again until the following October. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease and read on forums that it was almost impossible to lose weight until my thyroid was under control so I didn't even try. In October I met with a Metabolic Disease specialist who told me that as a result of the weight gained I had developed a condition called hyperinsulinanemia that was causing my pancreas to secrete more insulin than my body needed and it was causing my body to hold onto fat. She told me that if I didn't do something now that in the future I would be looking at more serious conditions, I signed back on to MFP, started exercising 3-4 times a week doing Zumba classes.As time has gone on I have added workout videos such as 30DS, Leslie Sansone walking DVD, etc. I try to keep my carbs around 135 or lower as recommended by my Dr. and I watch my calories. I eat back most of my work out calories and yes, I haven't been perfect. I stay away from fast food, "fun" coffees, and try to limit processed foods. It's working! I'm down 50 lbs since October and I'm excited to see what the next 4 months will bring! Keep at it friends, eating healthy and exercising DOES work!
