Work out DVD's ...

I have been looking for a workout DVD that has people that are larger than a tooth pick and more along the lines of what I look like or at least somewhere in between. It is sometimes hard to see the little perky people doing these routines with such ease and I am struggling to keep up. I get discouraged. I have looked into possibly getting Richard Simmons DVDs but I was wondering if there were others out there?

Have you looked at any of the Biggest Loser dvds? They usually have the contestants on the show in them and most of the time they are still at a higher weight then the end of their season...0

Definately go for the Biggest Loser CD's. More real people, but still a great workout. Richard Simmons is just hard for me to deal with.0

I suggest just doing the workouts on any DVD's you have and not focusing on what the people look like and soon you'll be able to keep up, and potentially look like them if that's what you're going for.
Or maybe just go for a walk/run instead....then you don't have to look at anyone.0 -
I was just going to suggest the Biggest Loser DVD's. I own a few of them and my personal favorite is "The Last Chance Workout" DVD. It has 3 routines, 1 cardio, 1 upper body, 1 lower body and of course a warm up and cool down. You can follow the 6 week program that the DVD lays out for your or you can mix and match which sections you want to do that day. I really enjoyed this one and felt like I got a really good workout. All you need is a set of small hand weights.0

I also love most of the DVDs by The Firm. The ladies on the videos are very fit, but in a healthy, inspiring kind of way. And their videos are also a very good workout.
Good luck!0 -
I have the Richard Simmons DVD's I got through I think Amazon for around $40 and it comes with I believe 4 or 5 dvds, it's a pretty good workout especially when your out of shape. I do those every now and then, and I agree it is discouraging to do a workout dvd and their all skinny and fit and i'm sweatin' my butt off trying to keep up.0

I have 2 Biggest Loser dvds that I LOVE! Power Sculpt, and Cardio Max. Both excellent! Or, there's Insanity... yes the people all look like athletes and personal trainers, but with that program, they have just as hard of a time as I do. So it's nice to see these super fit people sweating like crazy and having to take breaks just like me.0

I've started doing the Kettleworx DVD's this past week. with a 5 pound kettlebell and boy, what a workout. I'm having trouble doing the stairs at work- this is how I know I'm working every muscle.0

Check out Debra Mazda. She has several DVD's that are simple to follow and a lot of fun. One is a step workout, which I like a lot. She is not a tiny person herself, but in very good shape. The participants are various sizes. Her motto is "fitness comes in all sizes". I found them at Collage Video, but I am sure there are other sources. Good luck.0

Thank you all for your responses!! I have found a few that I am going to try out starting this week and a few more that I hope to get when I have a little bit more money
So far my favorite is the Extreme Makeover workout.0
