Eat at your BMR. Don't go below 1200 and even that is FAR too low for the majority of people. There is no set point.0

Starvation Mode is a misnomer.
What is actually happening is that your body gets used to the calorie deficit and your metabolism adjusts accordingly. That can actually happen at any weight or any calorie level if your levels are stagnant.
So, I'll agree. Eat at your BMR. Don't go below 1200 and that could be too low if you are working out.0 -
Starvation mode is actually not the scary weight-loss halt that most people believe it to be. The biggest difference you could see on the scale from a slowed metabolism due to inadequate caloric intake is about 1/4 of a pound. Weight-loss (in a healthy individual with no metabolic disorders) is nothing but math. However, you need to make sure you get adequate nutrition and enough calories to take good care of yourself! Not only is inadequate calories hard on your body, but also your mind - if you eat at least 1200 calories you will be able to put that much more effort and concentration into your workout!!0
