My favorite quick dinner is steamed salmon with steamed veggies - I bake the salmon in a tin foil packet with some lemon-pepper marinade, so it steams and just falls apart when it's done, plus there's no cleanup. Veggies are whatever I have around, of the steam-in-the-bag variety. Very high in protein and omega-3s, low in calories - room left over for a Skinny Cow dessert :-)

I love cooking and knowing what is going into my food. I strongly suggest using the recipes feature because it has helped me so much to figure out just how many calories are in each recipe I'm making. I often go to allrecipes.com and look for new things to make and many of them have an estimated calories per serving for each recipe. If I feel a certain recipe has too many calories I try to think of substitutions I can make to it or brands of food to use that lower the cals and keep the flavor. Also, remember that the way you make something and brands you use may not be exactly the same as what is listed on that site which is when creating a recipe on here helps. Try it out! I hope it works for you. Good luck!
  • Soup2go from Campbell's are great! They're under 100 calories and a whole serving of soup. I would recommend having something else such as fruit with it. But it certainly makes me full!
  • The portabella cheesesteak recipe that I got out of Cook This, Not That is by far one of my favorites. I go light on the cheese, double the veggies, and am in Heaven. I can't call the calories at the moment since my book has grown legs and walked off somewhere, but I know for a fact that it's under 500 cals. Maybs even 400.
