Basic Training for Dummies

Options
I actually wrote a long, sincere post regarding this topic and for some reason it never posted so I'm not going to do it all over again! :grumble:

Basically, I am new to excercise. I need a routine that will help with strength training, alternating body parts. I can step into my gym at the office and see a couple machines, dumbells, and excercise ball but have no clue where to start. Anyone suggest a plan (a book, magazine, website) I can reference to to get going? LIke a Basic Training for Dummies?

I find Oxygen magazine is a very good resource. Don't be discouraged by the fitness models on the covers, it is very user friendly for all fitness levels. There are always routines, receipies, inspriational stories, and advice in every issue. You can pick it up at any store where magazines are sold. Or you can to to www.oxygenmag.com

If you are starting out with cardio start slow. Depending on your fitness level start at 15 min a day and work your way up . Hope this helps.
