Tipping?

I'm traveling for business in the US for the first time and trying to get a handle on all the tipping expectations. I think I understand restaurants pretty well at this point, but what's the deal with housekeeping in a hotel? How does that work? Anything else I'm missing?

Here's a great website with a list of all tipping guidelines in the United States.
    Enjoy your stay here :-)

    Thanks!

And I'm happy to hear I was right about tipping at restaurants. I've been doing 20-25%. :)

I just realized I haven't been tipping each day in the hotel. I didn't even think of it to be honest, I just assumed I could do it at the end. Anything I can do to fix it at this point?

I'm a hairstylist so tips are def part of my income! I'd say 20% is perfect...unless you're extra generous!

For resturants, I vary a lot. From 15-35%. If the waitstaff doesn't meet my needs, I'll leave 15%. With one really bad experience I left a penny. The waitress was the most horrible waitress I ever had messing up our order 3 times. Then bringing us desserts to make up for it and charging us. Horrible. I was a waitress, so I left the penny on purpose. However, there have been a number of times I give 30%+ tips to those that are excellent and really make the experience enjoyable.

For the hotel, just finish up your stay and give the tips for the whole time to the front desk asking for them to split it up amongst the staff. I did that the first time I realized I should tip them.
