Total Misconception of fitness places

When i first started working out i was so self concious of what people would say and what type of people were going to be there. I was thinking it would be tons of skinny people and they would laugh at me when i was on the treadmill, So.SO NOT THE TRUTH WAS TOTALLY IMMATURE ABOUT THE TYPES OF PEOPLE THERE, There were so many different types of people, extremely overweight people trying to get there health back in check, very fit people keeping their health in check and older people keeping active. I was totally embarrassed on my thoughts on this. I apologize and I know better then that. SO CHEERS TO ALL YOU DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE JUST TRYING TO STAY HEALTHY. KEEP IT UP!!!

I like Planet Fitness with the "No LUG alarm" As soon as a guy/gal starts getting beefcake with the weights or pokin fun a klaxxon alarm goes off and he/she is escorted off the property!

You mean as soon as someone starts exerting themselves they kick someone out. What a joke of a gym.

I tried to get one of my friends to go to the work out facility at her apts because she said that was part of the why she choose those apts and she said she would when she lost weight. It was weird to me. I mean, yea I feel a bit jiggly at zumba but then I think of what I think when i see a larger person working. I think "hey, they're trying, good for them they are trying to get fit" So I just imagine people would think the same of me.

I work at the Y and you meet all kinds of people there! I LOVE IT! It is so wonderful to be around a group of people that all have the same goal: a healthy lifestyle. People are always SO nice at the gym and I even met my boyfriend there :)

For all those deciding to try it out, I say go for it (the y especially doesn't require a yearly contract if you don't like it). You won't be disappointed.

I lost 30lbs before I joined a gym. I had to reach a point where I was comfortable enough with my appearance and fitness level that I would feel comfortable in a gym setting. I still suffer from slight bouts of "fat girl at the gym" paranoia, but much less so than if I had started my weight loss journey at the gym.

I'm probably considered one of the more fit girls at the gym and the only thing that crosses my mind when I see another person is '"good for them for taking charge of their life." Typically I don't even think twice about it though because I'm more focused on my own workout :)
