Motivational Message Has Me Confused!

My fitness pal has confused with it's motivational daily message.
I am currently 5ft 3" and weight 149lb, I want to start losing weight as I got the lead in a production, I have until April to lose as much as I can because thats our first costume day, and costumes wont be able to be altered after that.
My Fitness Pal's summary says that I am set to lose about 7.1 pounds and be down to 142lb by the 22nd of March.
However!! Since I started (I know it's not long ago...) everytime I complete a days log of my eating and activity I get a message saying "If everyday was like to day you'd weight ___lb in five weeks!" the weight it says I will weight is always between 135lb (my goal weight overall) and 139lb.
I am confused though because despite this my summarys say I will only lose 7lbs.
Is it silly getting my hopes up over the end of day messages? I'd love to hit that weight in five weeks time! Especially considering I've gotten a balanced diet now and eat more regularly so don't feel as hungry!!

The summary message is because you have your settings to lose 1lbs a week which is recommended for someone who has very little to lose. It would seem that you are eating way under this, hence the message that based on calorie consumption alone you should lose quite a bit more. Unfortuantely in the real world it doesn;'t work like that and if you underfeed yourself, you may find yourself stalling in weigth loss as your body clings on to what it can.
I am only surmising this as I have not looked at your diary!0 -
It's only a rough guide, not a prediction. I wouldn't set too much store by what it says.0

Mine tells me "if you eat like this every day you'll be 118lbs in 5 weeks", but I KNOW that I won't be because I ate like this every day for about a year only fell off the wagon if you like for 6 months. The last time I was running and I don't think I had as much muscle as I do now, and even then I wasn't close to 118lbs. I am NEVER going to see 118 lbs and I don't really care. I just don't think my body is genetically programmed to be that weight no matter how healthily i eat, and exercise. I'm not defeatist about though, as exercise and healthy eating DO have an effect but it is just not that dramatic.0

It says "If everyday was like today" - how many did you eat today compared to your actual calorie goal to reach the 7lb loss?0 -
