Middle aged bloke looking for support

Hey guys, need support, I'm a 40 year old fella from UK (Yorkshire) looking for support to help get me back on track, I lost 3 stone last year thanks to MFP, and since dropping off MFP I've put half of it back on..... so looking for friends to drag me back to where I was and then further....

You don't need anybody to drag you somewhere... you only need to want to get back ;-)
Try to remember where you were after losing 3 st, how you felt then... and now... and then make up your mind!
You've already done the first step by coming back on here. Now take the second step and move towards a better you :-)

Welcome and good luck, and 40 isn't middle aged!! I know this for a fact as I am 40 this year and under no circumstances am I prepared to be middle aged.....I'm far to hip and happening and down with the kids (ahem) for that..........do they still say hip?0

If you put weight back on, then it was maybe because you 'came off the diet' and relapsed back into your old eating habits. That is why 'dieting' is such a dangerous thing. You deny yourself foods and restrict your food intake and then when you stop, you go on a binge. If you go at it slow and steady and retrain your eating habits, then this becomes a lifetime journey and the weight will stay off. The 80/20 rule is a great one. 80% healthy wholesome foods and 20% more indulgent foods and don't have too low an intake. The most important thing to your success is your attitude. The fact that you stopped gaining weight before you'd regained all of your previous loss is commendable and shows you have some commitment to a healthier you. Well done! As a previous poster has said - nobody should have to drag you to this. If you want a healthier lifestyle and a fitter body then the only person standing between you and it ....is yourself. You live and learn - still fairly new to this MFP thing so its' been a fairly steady progress so far but sure I'll have ups and downs - we need people like you on here to inspire us to keep going when the going gets tough.0

Welcome back! I've been on here for about 26 days now. I love it. I had to go look up what a stone was equal to in lbs. So I now know I have about 2 stone to lose or 30 lbs. Feel free to add. :happy:0
