Weight Training to Cardio Weight Training Class?

This semester in college I have been taking an aerobics class twice a week. Every class we do a different cardio exercise (ex- kickboxing, dance, step aerobics), and this upcoming class we're doing Cardio Weight Training.

Generally before class I do weights for about 45 minutes (been reading The New Rules of Lifting for Women.) However I'm not sure if it makes much sense to do 45 minutes of intense weight training, to go to 45 minutes of cardio intense weight training.

Has anyone done cardio weight training? Should I lay off of weights before class today?

I believe it would be best to first determine your goals, then decide which path would best get you there.

I would say it depends on how heavy the weights are that they have available for the class and what you plan on using. I love the cardio weight training class that I take once a week for a change and I use between 20-30 lb dumbbells take the next day off from heavy lifting then resume back into my lifting regime till the next week. If they only have 5-10 lbs weights available then I'd probably do my heavy routine first. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the input. Knowing my instructor, she'll have heavy weights available. She's pretty tough (but all with love.)
