Hello all!

A little about me:
I have always been overweight since childhood. In high school and college I maintained 150-160 pounds and although it was still considered overweight for my BMI I was okay with that because I felt great, was in good shape, and I LOVED the way my body looked. 7 years later I have two kids, a 5 y.o. and a 2 y.o, and am 60-70 pounds heavier. I looked at my honey dew melon shaped belly last week and decided that something has to be done. I am glad I found this website with all the tools. I know this is going to be a slow and steady process, but I am committed to doing this for the long haul. After al,l it took 7 years to pack the pounds on. I am looking forward to getting to know some of you as we fight this battle together.

I hear you!! I was able to wear a bikini on our honeymoon 6 yrs ago, and now I have on of those skirted tankinis. Trying not to show that extra weight around the mid section. I call the weight my baby souvenirs. I would rather just have the kids and not the weight. I have an almost 4 yr old and a just turned 2 yr old. I wouldn't trade them for my old body, but I would have walked much more with my second pregnancy if I'd known where I'd be today. I started about a month ago to really be determined to get this weight off once and for all. We've toyed with the idea of having another baby, but I'm not going to add to this weight. so besides looking good (before I turn 30 in Dec) I also am using the incentive of another baby-IF I can lose this weight.
I know that fad diets don't work, so I'm really just trying to eat better portions and more whole food. get out of here processed "food". I also started what I call the 3:30 program- a healthy life style. You walk 30 minutes a day at a nice pace, eat atleast 30 grams of fiber, and eat less than 30 grams of fat. You actually get to eat alot of food, but it's mainly fiber. No one ever got fat off of fresh fruits and veggies. I take one day a week to eat without counting fat and calories. I can also still have some goodies each day if I stay within my boundaries. So far I've lost about 5 lbs in 6 wks. I've kicked it up a notch though and am trying to go a little faster. Good luck!!
