I just re-vamped my resume last night and it looks awesome. I am going to be dropping them off at liquor stores today. I have applied at SO many places in the last couple months with not even one call back. Do any of you guys have any tips on Effectively dropping off a resume? do you ask for the manager? or just ask if they are hiring? I am clearly doing something wrong.

definitely ask for the manager and introduce yourself....and maybe make a follow-up call in like a week or two.....

The times are hard. It could just be that someone else has more experience. It sucks, I know. Do you have retail experience? Do you know anyone who works at a liquor store? Networking is a huge thing when finding a job. My parents owned a bookstore and it still took me 3 months to get hired at a corporate bookstore! It might not be you, but them and their budget, etc. Don't lose hope, though. It might take longer than you are anticipating. Good luck!

I would ask to speak to a manager. Then you're not just a name on a piece of paper.

    Good luck! :drinker:

One thing that helps me is using thicker paper (to print the resume on). Make sure you use paper that is *just* thicker than most people's (probably will be). It makes it seem more impressive...even subconsciously ^^

    Good luck!
