Hi,

I have been riding a stationary bike 5 days a week for 30-45min a day for over a month now. But, everyday it feels like i's getting harder to do on even lower resistances. I feel more exhausted by a few minutes that I did when I started. Idk what's going one? Has anyone else had this? Or felt like they hit this wall? This has all started in the past 1 1/2 weeks. I feel exhausted after like 3 mins :( last month I went for over 30 :(

You may not be eating enough protein to keep it up! Intense cardio tends to burn muscles as well as fat. So if you don't eat plenty of protein and weight train you can lose the muscle that was helping you power through your workout! Also make sure you're getting plenty of water to help your body repair your muscles. Adding strength training may give you just what you need to get back to what you were doing!

Is there anything else going on in your life? Are you more tired in general or just when you ride the bike?

My first thought was that you might not be giving yourself enough recovery time. You're using the same muscles every day to do the same thing. Have you tried just riding the bike every other day and doing a different exercise which uses a different set of muscles on the days between?

I actually just took 2 days off and still I feel weak at working out. How much protein should one eat? I always thought I ate a lot. And I drink a lot of water, especially working out. So idk :(

I just opened my diary, I know I ate a bit to much sugar over the past few days :( I had been tracking on weight watchers and started to get frustrated at not losing anything :(

what time of day are you doing your workout ? It might be the fuel you are putting in your body before working out.

What is this cake you ate for breakfast a few mornings, is it like real cake or like a egg/ham/cheese cake thing ???

Unfortunately it's real cake :( actually cupcakes, it was my bf's birthday a few days ago and they were staring at me all day.

As for when I work out, whenever I can. Like on the weekends I do it after lunch, but durring the week everyday is different. Monday and Wednesdays normally a few hours before bed, Tuesday and Thursdays mid morning.

Other days I will work out for 10 min every 1 hour or 2 as a study break. (I've been slammed with midterms)

Well I don't have the best diet by any means... but I make sure I have the fuel I need for vigorous workouts in me or I just die 10 min into my workout.... so maybe that's it ?

I would start taking every other day off from biking and do something else to get your heartrate up. Maybe it's too much. I love to run but I can't run everyday.... or even every other day, I tend to run every 3rd day or so, and swim the others... or walk incline...

I always workout after 4pm so I know to fuel up all morning and afternoon, and that includes water, are you drinking enough through the day ? Usually by 4pm I have at least 8 glasses in my before I even start working out.

You are not recovering enough. The only way out of this is rest until you feel better. Exercise very easy with low resistance and take additional days off until this passes. Another factor is to make sure you are getting enough sleep. Heavy exercise means more sleep is needed. That is when the body does most of its rebuilding.
