I'm at day 3 and I think my body is finally realizing what I am doing to it and I don't think its very happy. I've become very tired, mini headaches, kinda dizzy. Any explainations to this?

It happened to me too!! Be sure when starting out to take it slow, and be good to your body. No need to kill yourself the for the first few weeks, because if you do that you won't want to continue. It gets easier, I promise!! :)

What is your caloric goal set at? and
are you eating back the cals you burn from exercise?

As a man the min. amount you should be getting is 1500 Net (1500 plus eating back the cals you burn from exercise)

    Thats a loaded question.
Tired - It could be from too much exercise to start instead of gradual increase.
If you cut out caffene you can have headaches.
If you are not eating enough you might feel that way.

That's fairly common I think. When I started this diet, it took my body about 10 days to adjust, and I had similar symptoms. If you're like me, you've just made a drastic change to your calorie intake and that can be a bit shocking to your system. Things will even out by next week. Stick with it and remember that getting started is the hardest part. If your dizziness and headaches don't go away within a week or two, I would check in with your doctor though.

Congrats on beginning your journey! MFP has been a fantastic tool for me, I hope you find success here too.
  • I agree wholeheartedly!
However I made sure my nutrition was right so didn't really get headaches - but I make sure I eat every couple of hours or so. The first month was horrendous - large zits on my face, lank hair, threatening illnesses such as a cold, terrible looking skin etc etc. I said exactly what you did, that I thought my body was fighting back - and boy did it! BUT I WON! Six weeks down the line I am 30lb lighter and much fitter due to exercising EVERY DAY plus once a week with my Personal Trainer.

Keep at it. You will get over it (I don't mean that rudely, just that you will get through this patch).

Good luck. You are in the right place.

Thats just the weakness in you trying to leave your body..And don't let it break you and make you give up..Make sure you are eating enough and fight thru it that weakness

Yep, I think it's fairly common but it goes away quick. Happened to me too but only lasted a day or too.

Just to be on the safe side... as the above poster said, make sure you're getting 1400-1500 cals net.

And if it doesn't go away then it's also possible it could be low blood sugar related, in which case it should improve with a little more complex carbohydrate eaten with each meal. Check with doctor if you suspect low blood sugar as the culprit.

Try to keep your sugar intake under control. Eliminating excess sugars. Eat more protein after workouts. Small healthy meals every 3 hours or so. Once you get through the first 3 weeks of your diet you will start seeing great results. So keep at it. Best of luck. The headaches and dizziness will fade it's your body reacting to the change.

could be just an adjustment to lower sugar, caffine, etc. I'm not a dr though. If you set your food diary so we can see it more people might be able to help?
    Just a thought.
  • could just be your body's way of saying " okay you are changing your habits now its time to flush everything out" Esp if you are cutting sugar , carbs, or caffeine. My body went through withdrawls the first few days. it gets better and you feel a whole lot better a few days in. stick with it!
