So I am in week one and I really want to do another day today even though it's supposed to be a rest day. I just don't feel like it will hurt me that much since I am going such a short distance. I know rest days are important, but does it really matter that much if you're just doing 1.5 mi?

I started on Monday and did it Monday and Wednesday and don't think I could do it today (heat but my legs hurt). I would rest a day, especially if you are not a runner. It depends I guess on if you have run before, I haven't. Do it as it says, it seems to work well as is. Do something else on your rest day. At least until you get to week 3 or 4 JMO

Go for it, just listen to your body. Make sure you get at least one rest day a week.

It's very addicting! I think that is a good thing.

Another problem is that I did not have the training schedule at the start of this week so I ran Monday but just did 30 min. 15 walking. 15 running and walking. I will have to double up days to get on track with the schedule.

I agree with that, especially with the podcast and that guy telling you when to run and when to walk, kind of makes it easier to concentrate on the running instead of watching your time. Like Msarro said, listen to you body and do what you think. Personally I know that if I do too much I will burn out and not complete it. I bike or do a dvd on my off days just to keep active.

On Itunes you can download podcasts where a guy tells you exactly when to walk and when to run/jog. It has crappy music but it's nice to not have to worry about the time.

Thanks msarro. I was wondering the same thing. I felt I could do more than 1 day in a row, but wondered if we needed rest in between each day. So it depends on how your body is feeling.

I went last night, and want to go again tonight. I can't believe I'm saying this.
3 months ago, I would have said.. ah 1 jogging workout is enough, now the addiction is starting to set in.

It gets easier once you're on the distance....I had a chart made up for the first 4 weeks so I knew exactly when to walk and when to run - that is kinda a pain but you advance so quickly.

I agree about the rest, at least one day a week - I've found the deeper into it I get, I really can't do it everyday although I really want to! I figure I'll get stronger and before you know it I'll be running everyday again.

You can get them from various places.
    www.coolrunnings.com has some podcasts.

I D/L'd and used it last night from this site www.kissmyblackass.org

Whenever you work a muscle group, its recommended to do a 48 hour rest - ie every second day. Your mucles need this as they are stretched and broken down. In order to rebuild themselves they need time. I would recommend a different cardio on alternationg days. This would also alleviate the boredom  tendancy.

Work your lower body one day and upper body the next. Through some stuff in as a mix with the jog.

My favorite Podcast is Suz's Couch to 5K....its the same one mentioned from kissmyblackass.
I found it on I-Tunes on Podcasts - Fitness and Nutrition. Its unedited hip-hop. Did day one with it today and it was great! Just more my type of music than Ullrey's (sp?).
