Olive Garden Salad only 290 calories?

So I'm looking at Olive Garden nutrition (plannign to take a friend there tonight) and I see "1 serving" of salad is 290 calories, 20g of fat). That's pretty bad on the fat count, but I actually thought it would be worse.

Unfortunately, I don't see what "1 serving" is...

When I'm the only one who gets salad, they bring me the same size salad bowl as when a bunch of us do.

Does anyone know how many calories are in one whole bowl of salad?

Thanks!

When it comes to veggies it is my personal opinion that they do not need to be recorded in the diary. Veggies are good for you because they contain minerals and vitamins etc but have very minimal calories. Exceptions would be tubular veggies like potatoes.

When it comes to salads I always just record "all the other stuff" (any fruit thats in it, dressing etc.) aside from the veggies.

    Up to you though.

haha it's not the veggies in the salad I'm worried about... it's that dressing! I normally don't do dressing but I love Olive Garden's dressing.

Maybe I can guestimate how many tabelspoons of dressing I eat tonight and just log that.

You can order it with the dressing on the side. I noticed this on the website, too though. It doesn't specify what "one serving" is which kind of leaves us hanging lol

oo I hadn't thought of that... ordering the dressing on the side! Thanks!

I went to look at what I'll get. Since I'll share it with my son, I think i'll be ok calorie-wise.
