  • sodium intake can creep up on you. The only advice I can tell you is to read the labels. Sodium is in everything. Even snack size raw carrots. And sodium can be what hurts your weight lose goals when you intake too much.

Both the crackers and lunch meat can have a high sodium content in them. Try a low sodium lunch meat and of course the crackers are covered with salt. I agree with reading the labels - ever read a V8 label?

Less processed and fast foods will cut sodium. If you buy canVegetables and Tomatoes make sure they are no salt. I use Frozen Vegetables so I have control over what goes into it. Even low sodium products have tons of salt.

Lots of processed items have loads of sodium. Unless your Dr, is concerned with your intake I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure you are drinking lots of water to flush it out:)

Lunch meats have a lot of sodium as do canned soups and most processed, pre-packaged foods.

Instead of deli meat, cook a chicken breast yourself and slice it for your sandwiches. Tuna is much lower in sodium, as well. You can also try looking for lower sodium deli meat options, but there aren't a lot of them out there and they still have quite a bit of sodium.

Bread also has a lot of sodium. Use a romaine lettuce (or similar green) leaf to wrap your sandwich instead of bread from time to time.

Don't stress it too much. If you're worried, drink some more water. It will help flush out excess sodium so you don't need to worry about it so much.
  • I guess I need to READ labels!! Thanks!!
