I don't have MS and I don't have any advice to give, but I just wanted to say that I am sorry you have MS - I have heard that it's not very nice. I do hope you find a way to exercise.

Actually, on second thoughts, have you tried one of those curly things that help you to do sit ups? That way, you are not using your legs so much but still working on toning. Just a thought....

My sister unfortunately does have MS, and has been trying to shed some pounds. She so far has lost around 50 lbs over the course of a year, but a lot of that weight has been due to her job as a nurse. She was only diagnosed around two years ago, so while she does have lesions on her spine and brain, suffers from fatigue, and does have some numbness on her hands-- she is for the most part fully functional.

My sister has been trying the Swank diet, studies have shown it to benefit MS patients. It mainly focuses on being low-fat, and avoiding certain processed foods that could potentially lead to flare ups.

This might help you control calories, but more importantly it could potentially reduce some of your symptoms. There is a wealth of knowledge on the internet, and a few books specifically dedicated to the Swank diet if it is something that might interest you.

    Either way, good luck!
