Ok, this might be TMI for some, so if you have a weak stomach, don't read ok?
I started my diet on Wed, weighing in at 209 lbs. Meantime, I was put on an antibiotic by my dentist, to fight off an infection in two teeth. The medication gives me a bad stomach ache, and a MAJOR case of the runs if you know what I mean.....
I checked the scale today, and I am down to 200 lbs already!! I am eating 1,400 to 1,500 cals a day, and I think thats too much weight lost too fast!
Should I just leave it, or should I add more calories to be on the safe side? Part of me loves loosing weight so easlily! lol But I want to be able to keep it off. I know losing it too fast can hurt more than help.
Any advice?

If the medications is making you have to go that much its probably dehydrating your body. As long as your still having that reaction I would increase your water intake a little bit to accomadate water your loosing. Obviousy dont drink too much of you'll wipe your body's electolite stores out. The huge jump in weight loss may very well be water weight so I wouldnt worry too much about losing so much so fast.0

If you are going to the bathroom like that, be aware that the weight loss could be water weight from going to the bathroom. I think your calorie count is good. Just know that if a pound or two comes back that it could be water weight.0

Me personally, I would check with the Dr./Dentist and let him/her know the reaction you're having to this medication:noway: ... there are other kinds you can take that should not do this to you. And secondly, make sure you're drinking lots and lots of water to rehydrate. Good luck with that, hope you feel better soon.0

How long will you be in the medication for?
If it is temporary I think your body will readjust and the weightloss will slow down once you go off the medication.
I do think you should be consuming extra liquids though, having the runs can leave you severly dehydrated. Also, if while on the medication you feel like you are not eating enough I don't think there is any harm with adding a few extra calories to ensure your body has the fuel it needs.
Either way stay hydrated and continue to eat well. You will lose the weight. Remember quick isn't always the best. Be th tortoise not the hare
Good luck and I hope that you are feeling better :flowerforyou:0 -

Try eating live cultured yogurt or use acidophilus to repopulate your body with good intestinal bacteria.
Call the Dentist and tell him about your problem! Good luck! Alice0 -
Some medications can give you the RUNS!!! Just keep eating the way you are and drink more water. Thats what my Dr tell me to do!!:drinker:0

Alice is right eat the yogurt with live and active cultures. This wil keep the diarrhea at bay so you don't risk dehydration.0
