Proform 1450 Treadmil

Ok I am new to this site and just purchased the proform 1450 treadmil. I am not sure how the Ifit works but the guy at the store said I can run against other people, do 5k's 10k's and so on. Does anyone have this treadmil? How do I run with others? Any help is welcomed.
