I LOVE smoothies, especially the Weight Watchers chocolate ones - but they are expensive. I also make a smoothie from Almond Breeze.

1 Cup Almond Breeze (unsweetened vanilla)
1 Tablespoon Splenda
1 tsp vanilla
1 banana
ice (about 10 cubes)

Mix it altogether in the NINJA - very good.

Any other smoothie ideas out there?

    1/2 avocado
    2 tbsp chia seeds
    1 cup pineapple
    I pint raspberries

    1 cup vanilla yogurt
    1 banana
1 or 2 other fruits (ex: pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, etc)
    ice

Simple and delicious. The other day I found another one that sounded iffy, but I tried it & it was soooo goooood.

    1c vanilla yogurt
    1 banana
    2 tbs coco mix
    1 tbs peanut butter
    ice

I've started making green smoothies and LOVE them! I was always afraid of a smoothie that was the color of a tree frog! Not afraid anymore! My favorite one so far is this:

    1 cup almond milk
    1 banana
    1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
    1 tbsp raw flax seed
3 cups of fresh baby spinach leaves
    1/4 of an avocado

    DEEE-licious!

1 cup Light Silk Soy Milk (original)
1 serving peanut butter (its like 30g or something)
1/2 to 1 scoop GNC Soy-95 protein powder
    3-5g cocoa powder
    ice

    blend

tastes like a chocolate peanutbutter milkshake... its my new favorite thing.
  • This is my basic smoothie. I keep the proportions the same and change up the liquids (oj, yogurt counts as liquid) and the fruits (mangoes, spinach, whatever). It depends on what I have in the freezer, which depends on which fruit I bought fresh and didn't eat after all. Sometimes I add sunflower seeds or flax or something. I don't use ice or powders. It's always deelish!

2 c whatever kind of milk
    handful of frozen strawberries
    1 banana (frozen or not)

    1tsp of flax seed oil
    1cp strawberries
    1 banana
    1/4 cp carrots and celery
    1 tsp of organic honey
    1 tsp of lemon juice
    ice
    1 scoop whey protein vanilla
  • 2 huge handfuls baby spinach
    1/2 avocado
    2 tbsp chia seeds
    1 cup pineapple
    I pint raspberries
    2 frozen bananas

Do you soak the chia first for yours? I read that the slimy part is the healthy part. I wonder if this needs to grow or if it's present and just dried in the dry seeds.

Also, I love all the avocado here. I hadn't thought of that but have had avocado slushies at Vietnamese restaurants and like those.

    My favorite smoothie recipe:

1 scoop vanilla GNC soy protein powder (you can use any kind, I just like this one. I've tried others, they just tasted bad.)
    frozen strawberries and blueberries
    Silk soy milk
If I use a sweetener, I use maple syrup or honey

I used to also put in bananas, but they are considered an "unfavorable carb" in the diet I'm following, and 1/3 of a banana doesn't work for me.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I'm looking for new smoothie ideas.

    2 TBS of honey
    1/2 cup orange juice
