Do you make your own whey protein recipes?

I want to play around and come up with some recipes using whey protein but I don't really want to waste it if they go wrong. Already lost a few scoops from that! So I was wondering, if you play around and come up with your own whey protein recipes, are there any rules that you follow? Like substituting x for y. Or using a certain ingredient that makes it lower calorie. Anything like that.

Chocolate protein shake with a teaspoon on peanut butter - tastes like a Snickers, but without the guilt. Mmmmmmmmm!0

Caroline,
I just think about the chemistry of whatever I'm trying to make. Like with the "prake", I just thought about using a wet ingredient and something sweet (banana blended with protein), something that makes it stick together (egg), something that makes it fluffy (bran and flour)., something that gives it body (peanut butter or blended avocado) and something that makes it rise.
Just think about the properties of whatever you want to make and how you could create that using healthy ingredients.0
