Motivating!!

Hi Everyone!
These message boards are SO motivating to me! I am definitely not only going to be more active in life, more more active on these boards. A few years ago, I hit my high weight of 242 and did medical weight loss and lost 40lbs. But then after a stretch of unemployment and laziness, I gained 20 of it back. Last year, I lost that 20 again, and now am setting a bigger goal for myself! I am working to lose 2lbs per week to lose another 20, then maintain for a month or two and get right back at it!
I'm 25, 203lbs and would like to be 160 this year (next year will be another goal, don't want to bite off more than I can chew out of the gate, I can always increase my goal later).
My main motivation is to be 180 by memorial day - and tell my ex to eat his heart out (that's the next time I'll see him, haha). But dont worry, I'm no doing this for him, I'm doing this for me! :-) (and that satisfaction of the look on his face, lol,)
What is all of your motivations?? (not just goals)

My biggest motivation for losing the weight was for health reasons. I was 34 years old at the time and with a strong family history of all kinds of heart issues - most of which start to make their appearance around the age of 35. I knew I didn't want to be like my aunt or my grandpa. I did it for my health first and foremost.
I did it because I saw a woman walking one afternoon and I would say she was close to my weight/height. I remember thinking to myself "OH MY GOODNESS! Do *I* look like that?" and then... I saw a picture of myself. Holy crap. I was fat. All of those things are were my motivation to lose weight.
A picture of me at 203lbs (my heaviest weight) hanging on my fridge is what keeps me on track. I never want to be that heavy again (and I won't be).
BTW, I've been in maintenance for 18 months. At or below my original goal weight the entire time!0 -
My main motivation is my health. I have heart problems & hypertension. I'm also close to being diabetic. Those are huge reasons to lose weight but, I'm not gonna lie, looking good in a pair of jeans will be nice. :bigsmile:0
