Hello everyone.. I did Insanity workout in January (month 1 ) and haven't lost neither weight nor inches... I've decided to do it again from the beginning... So I am again on my first week... I am eating about 1300 calories...( i ate the same in January). I need your opinion.. I am thinking of eating 1000 calories while doing Insanity a day because I really need to lose weight fast... so what do you think ? If i eat 1000 calories and lose weight and then increase intake according to my BMR will i gain it all back???? thanks a lot

Didn't it come with a nutrition guide? I think the nutrition guide was designed to maximize weight loss while on the program.

No way. I don't think you're eating enough. You need a lot of energy to get through these workouts. So fuel your body with good food.

Dont we all want to lose our weight fast!

Sadly, isnt the best option, it certainly isnt the healthy option.

Your going be eating to few calories.
Do you eat exercise calories back?

I can burn 500 on insanity, so really only going to have ate 500, farr to low.

    Eating is key in weightloss.

The less calories you eat the more likely it is for you to burn out and your body to go into self-protect mode and slow your metabolism down therefore you not losing weight! I started a diet on 1200 a while back and lost 2lb in the first week, gave up and now since Jan 1st this year I have been on 1400 cals, exercising and I lost 7lb in the first week and 5lb in another week! In total I have lost 15lbs! Eating less is NOT the way to go...

1300 cals for this program is too low. I have done insanity in the past and lost about 15 lbs eating 1500-1600 cals a day. Any lower and I wouldn't lose. You gotta fuel your body with this workout.

If nothing changed weight or measurement-wise in a month, your calories aren't on point - either in what you burned or what you consumed. It's that simple.

    1. Set MFP to lose 1 pound per week.
    2. Log your food properly (and by properly I mean as accurately as possible - use a food scale)
    3. Log your work outs as accurately as possible.
    4. Eat back most of your exercise calories to maintain the proposed deficit, since with only 15kg to lose, you don't want a massive deficit.
    5. Re-*kitten* in a month.

It doesn't have to be torture, and you don't have to starve.

The same thing happened to me- when I was doing Insanity, I was losing nothing. I couldn't understand why. After some research I realized I needed to up my calories. I did- and that's when the weight came off.

I have my weight loss goal set to .5 lbs a week but I usually lose more than that. I am allowed like 1450 a day and I eat back all my exercise calories- which means if I burn 300 calories, I eat up to 1750 a day. I'm consistently losing weight.

It depends on your weight/height etc. But I'm glad you're giving kt a try! Remember- insanity is tough and your body needs fuel! You'll build muscle and again, you need fuel for that!
  • Yes lowering your calories too much is counterproductive ,it will stall you ,I have done this and the minute i increased my calories Id drop ,so definitely do not go to low

I completed the program just before Xmas, although I didn't lose any weight or inches, the tone in my legs was incredible, it was something I didn't expect! I was thinking more about the other parts of my body I really hate LOL....it depends on the person too, I don't lose weight easily AT ALL!!!! but you do need to keep yourself fuelled to be able to sustain the workout......month 2 is AWESOME!!!! I just totally fell in love with the whole thing....I'm now doing The Asylum, I am in week 3 but I'm going back to week 1 tomorrow because it took me 2 weeks to master the moves and coordinate the equipment.....for me it's all about the food, if your diet is right you will lose weight....mine hasn't been lately and I'm still trying to lose the last 12lbs after 15months.....there are no quick fixes, it does take time and patience (both of which I get annoyed with!) but it really is the cold hard truth....anyway stick with it!
