I NEED HELP GETTING NEW RUNNING SHOES!

Options
I'm going to my local Nike outlet today to replace my old running shoes and I need some suggestions. I did a bit of research but I'm hoping some ideas from you guys would also be helpful.

I'm looking for something light weight but very supportive/sturdy. I don't have any foot issues (high arches etc,) but I DO have knee problems.
I don't need any bells and whistles, just a straight forward awesome running shoe.

I've looked into the Nike Pegasus +28s but, like I said before, I don't have any real issues with my feet and these seem a bit more geared to people who do. Would it be a bad idea to pick up a pair of these if I like them?

Any advice would be great, so thanks in advance!!!

TLDR: Need awesome Nike running shoe suggestions.

    Hi

I always used to wear Addidas because they were very light shoes then went on to a pair of Asics but now wear Nike Pegasus +28s and find them great after a year and half. I am going to stick with this shoe model as for your knees try to run on trails and grass keep of the road if poss. My daughter also wears them and she does alot of running and you can get them in some cool colours.

Under Armour are the best I have used so far.
  • I have a knee problem as well, I bought the supportive nike zoom, it's really helped a lot, I don't have any pain in my knee after I run, where as before it would be swollen and hurt a lot!

Are you in the UK? If so find your nearest Sweat Shop. http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/

If you go in the store they will give you a free gait test, and then they offer a 30 days money back guarantee. If you don't like them for any reason you can return them within 30 days.

They also have an offer at the moment that is, buy one pair, and get a second pair for only £25.

I just picked up an awesome pair. They're called Nike Zooms.
They are for running on pavement.
When you try them on, bounce on your heels. It feels amazing!
There's actually air in the treads for cushioning.

I had the same pair for 2 years, and just switched to the Nike zoom. <3
You should try them on. I think you might convert.

Have you had your gait checked (as prev poster has already said?).

I always thought I had 'normal' feet, and ran in a 'normal' way. I went to buy myself some proper running shoes once my mileage increased a little and I knew i wold keep up the hobby. I went to a shop called Up and Running ( I live in the UK) and the guy had me run on a treadmill for a few mins, which then tracked my running pattern. It turns out that I have a mild overpronation - so need to get shoes with more support inside the arch of the foot. it does make a difference to my run - and I don't suffer from any knee pains.

Do you have any specialist running shops which could advise better than us which shoes to buy? We can't see your feet/body shape/how you run.

    Happy shoppig. :)

I used to get shin splints a lot. Then I went to a running store and had my gait checked. It turns out I was I was in the wrong kind of shoe. Haven't had any problems since I switched shoes. My advice is to go to a local running specialty store and have them analyze your gait and foot strike. They can recommend a shoe type. After that, brand and styling is a personal choice.

    Good luck!

I like the nike dart running shoes. I bought the dart 7s and 8s for $39.99 each at JCPenneys. They support my feet very well, I don't have any foot pain as I did with previous running shoes. I'd also get my gait checked like several posters have mentioned already.
