Find an exercise that you actually enjoy...swimming, biking, workout videos. Just think...20 or 30 minutes of sweating = awesome changes in your body and in your life. So worth it. And the good thing about food is there will always be more tomorrow. Remind yourself that you WILL eat again when you're tempted to overeat.
I don't think I would be sticking with this if I hadn't found MFP...this is the most motivational weight loss tool I've ever found. When I see that I've finished my calories for the day and I still want to eat, I'll either tell myself that breakfast isn't that far off, and I'll wait, or I'll do some cardio so I can have a snack. It's actually quite empowering to know that you are in control of your calorie intake and output. Wanna eat? Do a workout.
Oh, I gotta promote my fave site ever- www.exercisetv.tv << awesome free workouts. Check out the cardio tease workout, I love it. :flowerforyou:0 -
I've been battleing depression/self esteem/body image issues since I had my daughter 2 years ago...it all started about 6 weeks after she was born. I tried meds, and after a/b 5 months stopped b/c I felt worse WITH the meds. I finally bit the bullet and got a personal trainer, just once a week, and have been in the best shape physically AND mentally than I have been in YEARS. Not only the exercise itself, but also the variety in my exercise has been the key. I lost 4lbs. the first week! Good luck, and it DOES get better!0

I was depressed too, and also had very low self esteem when I first came here.
Lookat my before and after pics in my profile, as well as others here who have lost a lot of weight, and see that it IS possible, you WILL feel great, and have tons of confidence in yourself in no time at all with MFP!
For exercise, it doesn't always have to be awful. For my exercise, I walk almost every day, (weather permitting!) I also dance to a fast oldies CD that my husband made up of all my favorite old songs. (Like "Love Shack", Wild, Wild West", "Mony, Mony", "Footloose", and "Gloria")
It's free, (unlike a gym!) fun, and I can even watch tv at the same time, so I never get bored!
I also recently aquired the Wii Fit, and jog to that, which is a lot of fun, and easy too!
Make good food choices, eat in moderation, get some exercise, and you WILL lose the weight that you want to!0
