Well, my husband and I drove half an hour late yesterday to run our 5k run/walk and it got cancelled due to severe weather. We stood in a picnic shelter for an hour with a bunch of other runners in a torrential downpour until they finally decided to cancel the run.
I was so disappointed. We had worked so hard to get to that day. I understand they had to cancel, there was lightening everwhere, but still this was to be my first ever official race.
So I'm now going to continue training for a 5k run/walk in my own little town in October. I ran the course this morning to see if I could finish it running the entire time. I finished it in 34:14. Not a blistering pace, but I have a number to work with between now and October and I didn't walk any of it.
