Hi, I just joined today, but I've been on a diet for about 3 weeks now, and lost 4.6 lbs, I was 168.8 lbs now I'm 164.2 lbs I found this site and I find it very helpful! I think it's really cool!
anyways, I'm going to the gym tomorrow with a friend, does anyone have any tips on how to do workouts for longer without getting tired? (We usually go work out for about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, but I seem to get very exhausted fast, I seem to get tired and my feet hurt after about 30 minutes on the treadmill (walking at a fast pace) any suggestions?

Welcome - Glad you found us!
You did not mention your current routine, so I will just tell you what works for me - you may or may not already be doing these.
I must eat before workouts. Good mix of protein and carbs at least one hour before. Otherwise I have no energy.
After a 5 minute walking warm-up, I do strength training first, for 30-45 minutes. I then move to the treadmill and do intervals. Walk 3.5 mph 2 minutes, sprint 30 seconds, repeat for 15-20 minutes. Then I walk on the toughest incline possible at a slow pace (2.5mph), for 10-15 minutes. Then cool down and stretch. You can see I am nowhere near 2 hours.
If your feet hurt, do you have a good pair of shoes?

Hello and welcome!
You know as you lose weight and gain muscle your workouts won't be so exhausting. That's quite a long workout too, well to start off with at any rate. I would try to do as much low impact exercise as possible as the strain on your joints is hard to take when you are just starting out. Swimming is good or the eliptical trainer. You could break up your workout into smaller time portions throughout the day(ha ha like anyone has time for that! but if you do it can be helpful to reduce strain or injury). You could also try eating some carbs before your workout for energy and eating some protein after it to repair muscle.

Sorry this sounds really silly, but what would some carbs or protein be? I usually go around lunch time, (I have tourettes and an anxiety disorder) so I can't be out in public when it's busy or I get anxiety attacks usually, or very nervous and stressed at the least, so like would I have these carbs or protein for breakfast then?0
