I know that this is a huge debate here on MFP. Right now I am eating some if not all of exercise calories back. The scale hasn't moved in a few weeks for me. I am just curious for those of you who DO eat your exercise calories back what have your experiences been like when it comes to losing weight? Have you always continued losing or have you stalled? And WHY do you choose to eat them back? :flowerforyou:

Most of my work outs are more than mfp suggests I do. They suggest I only burn like 279 a day. Most days I burn around 550 and sometimes up to 850. So I don't feel bad about eating some if not all of them back. Usually I have some leftover and I won't eat them if I'm not hungry. If I don't eat any of them back I feel a lack of energy thus I won't be able to do my workout the next day. The past two-three weeks that I've been back on track from being sick and allergies I have lost 4lbs with eating back most of my cals back so for now it's working. If it stalls I will try doing something else, but not eating any of them would leave me with a net of 600-800 calories a day...

I eat my calories back, but I try to keep a 500 Calorie deficit. But MFP has me only eating 1200 and I should be eating 1600....

I burn anywhere from 1200-2200 calories a day (split train most days) with 1 rest day a week. I eat back 85% of my exercise calories leaving 15% for error in my logging and Calories burned. If I did not eat them back I would put myself in Huge Caloric Deficit's. Plus my body needs fueled to do my workouts..... It will take a few week for your Metabolism to repair itself if you have been flatlined do to not eat back your exercise calories but once your body realizes it can stop holding on to calories again then you should start dropping... I lose right at 1 pound a week...... Good Luck.....
