Tomorrow is "Paczki Day", from which I will abstain as always, because I can easily resist the one-million calories in them that the news media always so kindly details this week!

Anyway, I know this is a huge Detroit area tradition, but who else lives in a city where this is popular??

  • I have never heard of it, but I vote you change it from Fat Tuesday to Tubby Tuesday, haha

    How about Fluffy Tuesday!? LOL

I actually just heard about this Paczki deal this past week... the stores are loaded with them! Apparently the tradition started as a way to clean their houses out of food before beginning a 40 day fast... I'll just have a regular old donut please :)

The calories listed on this site for pazcki seem a little low too....traditionally they're always estimated over 1000......at least when the people on the news start talking about them...

Paczki, pfannkuchen, pancakes, crepes. I shall abstain but cheers on the Polish naming. :)

We always have pacski at our local bakery...not partaking this year....or the next.
  • Paczki Day's a HUGE tradition here, so instead of my usual 3 - strawberry, lemon, & chocolate, I will limit myself to 1 & eat very small the next 2 days ;-)
