One of my favorite foods. I always let it sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This way you can cook it rare without the center being cold.
All you really need is a little salt and pepper for seasoning. Sometimes I will use lemon salt. I cook it on a hot cast iron skillet or cast iron grill pan (let the skillet get really hot - almost to the point that it smokes). Add a little olive oil and add your tuna steak. Cook for about a minute or so on each side.0 -
Same as above - except get some sesame seeds - toast them in a skillet until they are a golden brown, Salt, Pepper on the the tuna, role in the seeds, sear on both sides for about 45 seconds to a min.
Slice diagonally into thin slices (a bit thinner than 1/4") and serve.
