Hi there,
I'm new to MFP and have always had this issue: after a meal I CRAVE something sweet and/or am always still hungry. Any advice? I'm working on drinking a ton of water instead, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Thanks.

Try a piece of fruit. Add more protein to your meals if you aren't feeling satiated afterwards. You should never truly be hungry after a meal!

Me too, just fight it, it will get better. Unsweetened fruit or herbal teas may help as well (Fennel is my favourite, but I also sometimes have cherry, strawberry or peppermint tea after a meal).
  • I know what you mean! I have a few pieces of Trident sugarless gum & that seems to do the trick. Tropical Twist is my fav. I buy the packs at Costco. Otherwise, as a snack, I do 3 oz of baby carrots or an apple, that helps with the sweet cravings too.

I'm of the all things in moderation school of thought. Have a sugar free jello with whipped cream or even a skinny cow frozen treat. I save 100 calories every night for a sweet treat and have lost 20lbs in two months.
  • I have an open bag of chocolate chips in my pantry. Instead of a full on dessert, I just grab 4 or 5 chocolate chips and enjoy something sweet! (Don't forget to walk away from the pantry!!) According to the brand I have, they are only 3 calories each (small chocolate chips). Dark chocolate would probably be even better for you.
