ALright i have a question for everyone. I know I have asked about protein power but I heard that eating a tablespoon of peanut butter before bed will boost your metabolism and help you loose weight while sleeping. My brother in law said that he knows someone that has been doing this and its been working. So I'm just wondering.

Mabey since it is working for someone you know you can try it for a week to see if it makes a difference for you??? I'm curious to know if it works, lol. Having a tablespoon of peanut butter before bed just seems kind of scary to me :noway: But sometimes the weird things are the things that work!!!0

It's argued that a protein snack before bed provides amino acids to aid in muscle repair and maybe keeps the metabolism firing while you sleep. Others say that a carb snack is better, and others say go to bed hungry. It's just like everything- conflicting opinions.0

the way it was explained to me was its the same as having a protein shake. I think I will save that 190 calories and try it however what the heck if anything I need the protein in my diet. :happy:0

Its all confusing. One person says one thing and another person says another thing. Its just finding what works for you but damn its so hard.0 -

As a rule--information from relatives (unless they are professionals in the field) tend to rank very low on the reliability scale.0 -
depends on the relative:P0

Eating peanut butter before bed is how I go myself into this mess!:embarassed:
There is no way I'm going to try it!:laugh:0 -
Damn hey its wishful thinking. Kinda like the other weird diet trends you hear about. :drinker:0

better protein then a bowl of sugar cereal0

Maybe try 6 or 7 almonds and a couple walnuts instead?
{But I do agree that you shouldn't rely on diet advice from relatives...it's like believing what you hear at cocktail parties about the law and taxes.}

protein before bed is good for me. i can't sleep hungry and protein i feel is kind of "safe" to eat before bed. carbs give you caloric energy (from my understanding) and if you don't expend that energy, it gets stored in the form of sugar - so carbs are best eaten in the first half of the day to keep your metabolism happy.
be sure that the PB isnt the sugary processed stuff...real peanut butter won't do too much harm - just make sure you do log it and account it.
