My husband and I argue every year at lent that fish is not a meat and can be eaten on Fridays...but beside pizza, pasta, and fish, what else do you eat on meatless fridays during lent?

There are only 6 Friday's I think, so not too many meals to worry about.

Besides the pizza(cheese or veggie of course) you mentioned, we may do another
"breakfast for dinner" with pancakes and eggs, or fish tacos. Sometimes we even
splurge and have shrimp or other shellfish, but that certainly dosnt feel much like
any sort of sacrifice (doh!). Tomato and grilled cheese is more lunch-like but could
work for dinner too. I'll at big garden salad with tunafish on top also.

Hope I gave ya a few ideas! I'll have to work even harder as I'm giving up cheese for Lent this year . . EEEP
(now THAT IS a sacrifice for me!)

A few ideas..... veggie burgers, beans (black bean burgers are good), bean burritos, bean tacos, beans on toast (english favorite lol), home made veggie soup, roasted root veggies and rice, pad thai w/tofu, vegetable marsala (indian). There are some good ideas on the meatless monday website http://www.meatlessmonday.com/
  • vegetarian chili with lots of beans and veggies (peppers, onions, mushrooms, diced tomatoes)
