Right now for exercise I go to the gym and do cardio.... I want to do strength training but I want to start at home to be comfortable with my body. Is there any beginner like DVDs with Jillian Michaels that is strength training? Like I said im a newbie, and at a complete loss.

I think her 30 Day Shred workouts are good. They combine strength with cardio and abs. I've gained some great toning and muscle definition just from doing them.0

I second the 30DS. I think most of her video's are designed to do all of the above, but the 30DS and ripped in 30 are the only one's I've done.0

Give the 30 Day Shred a try. Her 6 Week 6 Pack is pretty good too & her attitude in the 6W6P video is super fun. I have the Biggest Loser Cardio Max Weight Loss video & it's pretty great too.0

Agreed - the 30 DS is great. My fitness level is kind of mediocre - I do cardio, but not much of anything else, and I love the 30DS. I am on day 2 of level 3 and I notice a lot of differences. I love how strong I feel now!! It's nice that she mixes it up with 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs. And where there's 3 levels you can take it at your own pace.0

I actually have a Jilliian Michaels for beginner video...it is Frontside Interval Training with 6 intervals she does...I like it a lot and although the moves are not hard compared to her usual speed, etc., my legs are always sore from the squats the next day...basically it does 30 seconds cardio followed by 2 muscle groups exercises (squats, overhead presses with hand weights, push ups, etc.), repeated 3 times, then switches to a different set of 3 exercises... a really good beginner Jillian video.0

I have 7 Jillian Michaels DVDs, beginner front, beginner back, cardio kickbox, advanced front, advanced back, yoga meltdown and 30 day shred. Oh. My. Gosh! All of them are tough! But well worth the workout, she always gets results. Be prepared to pant and sweat! So worth it. And she does go into detail about how to do the movements correctly at the introductory levels. I think you'd find it very gratifying!0

30 day shred is a mix of cardio and resistance training. If your looking for only resistance training then No more trouble zones might be a better fit, but imo its way harder then 30ds so it might take longer getting used to.0

I think Im going to order that DVD off Amazon! Only 5 bucks for the season! Better than nothing0

Also Jillian Michaels has a dvd called " No More Trouble Zones" that works you very hard. I do that one a lot and I really like it. It's long (55min) but when you're done you are dripping and you know you've worked hard. I have lost 1.25" off my waist in the last 5 weeks doing that dvd 5x a week.0
