Hey,

Just curious to if any of you ladies have issues with your period never ending...

My freshmen year of high school my periods would get so bad that i would have the runs the day before i started, day of, and day after...i usually threw up on the day of cause I cramped so bad and was always on my periods 3 weeks out of the month with only a week between each period..so we went to the doctor and they put me on birth control to straighten it out. Which it took away the bad cramps and me throwing up and after a few years seeing several different doctors and changing pills 5 different times they started becoming regular, but the last few months Ive started spotting for 2-3 weeks and maybe actually bleeding every now and then along with crazy bloated...the last two months or so Ive been feeling completly exausted i work out but i still feel like if i close my eyes ill be out..none of the seven doctors ive went to within the last 10yrs have been able to figure out whats wrong with me they change up my birth control, tell me to take B12 vitamins (which don't phase me at all) and recently switch me over to B-Yaz about 3 months ago to see if it'd help with my energy level which seems do only be worse..has anyone else had an issue simular to this maybe some advice..ive had my iron checked out and several other things and they say iam perfectly healthy and can not find anything wrong with me...iam just tired of being constantly tired all the time and bloated for 3 weeks and constantly having to check and make sure iam not bleeding

Wow, and I thought I hated my body...
I take buscopan for the cramping, it also helps a little with the discomfort of having the runs.

Other than that, I can just wish you good luck to find a doctor with some more sense...
  • Do you have endimitriosis (sp??)

Someone close to me does, has severe pain during periods, and sometimes continuous spotting if you have recently had a cist burst.

I've had tons of problems with irregularity. The key to treating it, is to find the right bc. I had a horrible time with pills. i used nuvaring for a while, but even that left me tired all the time. I'm now using Implanon (same as mirena, only implanted in the arm, due to no space for mirena). It has completely changed my cycle. I had a few months of non-stop bleeding, off and on. But now I'm down to almost nothing for bleeding. Turns out I'm super sensitive to estrogen and it's analogs. I can't eat soy because of it! Perhaps a progesterone only BC may help you? At least try to talk with your doctor about it.

I have a student who suffers really bad around TOM, she's never in during that time. She's got the cramping, puking and super heavy flow. At least it's only a couple of days a month for her. I can't imagine how bad this is for you. Is there a chance for fibroids? It's a possibility. They can tell with a simple ultrasound!

I hope you find a solution!

I've experienced something like this (I'm 49) as well as a friend (40). We see different doctors, but both found relief with stronger doses of birth control medicine.

I hope you find relief and soon!

Froschi - thanks...yea my cramping isn't nearly as bad as it used to be and YES iam hoping i can find a doctor to fix this

Roshams - yes ive been checked for that cause i was having sharp pains and they found i had a cyst on my overie and they said it could be a chance that i may have that but when i went back the cyst was gone and they said i don't have the endimetrisiosis, thanks

Lizard053 - yea i figured maybe birth control would be the only solution, ive used ortho-tri-cyclin-lo, yasmin, nuevaring, yaz, and currently on B-Yaz now...yea the nuevaring gave me really bad pains and I had to stop it after awhile and change...i wonder if thats whats wrong with me, my stomach is VERY sensitive and now that i think of it i used to drink a glass of milk all the time and my freshmen year i started getting to where dairy products messed me up which is the same year that I started taking the birth control, maybe i should check that out, ive mentioned it to everyone of my doctors but all they could say was maybe iam just lactose-intolerant, so ill have to ask about that...sounds like she had the same problem as me except our length of time...i wanna say ive been checked for fibroids when they did the ultrasound to check and see if i had a cyst and they didn't say anything about it so iam guessing i don't have anything with that either. Thank you!

    Almsthvn- Thank you
