How does HCG fit into the whole 500 calorie regimen you ask? It's the placebo.0

I have done the homeopathic hcg drops and it works, the hormone keeps you from feeling hungry at all so you don't even really want to eat the 500 calories your allowed. But there are side effects and i would advise anyone who is thinking about doing this to really read into it. i lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks it was incredible but i also had really bad neck cramps and nightmares like never in my life. I stopped the hog because i couldn't handle the side effects anymore and put all the weight back on within a month. =/0

Lets calm down, not everyone knows that HCG is dangerous or a faux pas on MFP. It is advertised everywhere.
Us in here everyday seem to forget there are people that do not live on MFP. Lets all get off our high horses.

My friend is on it. Just started this year. Only lost 14 lbs from what she told me. She said she feels like **** all the time. Grumpy and before that she was doing Crossfit Training and doing quite well so not sure why she switched. Doctor said no Crossfit for her. Maybe walking. She is now depressed and says her body looks saggy and she hates that she barely eats. But she paid in full thinking this was the answer. Recent visit her doctor told her after the fact that once she loses all the weight not to be surprised when some or most of the weight comes back. My friend was angry and the doctor told her you must know that as quickly as you take it off it will quickly return and then offered her to buy more injections when the weight comes back!0

Good luck with your weight loss, but the HCG diet has been studied by many scientific organizations, and they all concluded that HCG, even the "real" injectable version, is no more effective than a placebo, and eating only 500 calories a day for weeks, as recommended by that plan, can cause more health problems than it solves.
The only reason people lose weight on that plan is you are only allowed to eat 500 calories a day. HCG has been scientifically proven to do NOTHING to help with weight loss or to make it safe to eat only 500 calories a day. It will not protect muscle, reset your metabolism or do anything else the snake oil salesmen that sell it claim. Dr. Simeons was a quack doctor. His "HCG protocol" has absolutely NO scientific backing and is not worth risking your health on.
The MFP moderators have been cautioning members against attempting that diet because it is so dangerous.
Please read the articles on these websites before you try HCG. I know some people that put their faith in the HCG diet, and became very ill from malnutrition as a result. It is NOT safe!
The Government is now in the process of getting all that fraudulent stuff off the market, and it's about time!
