I started this journey at 196 lbs and i lost weight on a consistent basis of atleast a lb or so a week. For the past 3 weeks i have gained. Not much, but still a gain is a gain. My clothes still fit loosely and my comparison pictures show that I am losing but why the gain on the scale! I have stayed with in goal and I am trying very hard but this is just really getting to me now. My calorie intake is 1600 and i have from the beginning ate back my exercise calories. So what in the world is going on?! I am just very frustrated.

Try mixing it up a bit. Drop you calories for a bit and decrease you exercise. Try it for at least one weight in cycle (a week if that's how often you weigh in). Sometimes you just need to wake up your body. Then again, try changing the batteries in your scale. That worked for me one time too! LOL!

Looks like you lost 16 pounds. Excellent! Have you adjusted your caloric goals since you started losing? Eventually everyone hits a plateau. Not seeing your diary, I am just guessing. Keep up the good work, might just be a fluke.

When my weight goes up unexpectedly, it's often stress. 4 times it was pregnancy, lol, but most of the time it is seriously stress. You are probably a stronger person than I am in that regard, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Why are you implying that you're doing something wrong? Weight loss is not linear. How much are you gaining?

I would go by how many inches you loose not the lbs lost.

I am in the same boat and am adjusting my caloric intake from 1400 up to 1600. Hope it works!

wiggins_i I have been going through a lot of financial stressful stuff here lately so that might be where this is coming from.

first, 1.5 lbs is well within the margin for error of weight loss, so don't worry about it so much, second, stress is the great equalizer for hormones, releasing excess cortisol into the body, which makes it harder to burn off excess calories (insulin is blocked by cortisol). Stress really can make you fat (or be a hindrance to fat loss at least). Try to find some stress management techniques to help, and absolutely re-do your calorie goals every 10 lbs lost, the numbers will change, and adjust your loss per week totals as well, as we lose fat stores, the body has less to draw from, meaning your loss per week will go down.
