I have about 20 more pounds that I would like to lose.. I have already lost 9 poundUtah nd decreased my body fat but the scale seems to be stuck. I work out like crazy I think. I do muscle building exercises with a trainer 2 days a week and cardio about 4-5 days per week. I generally keep my calories to 1250-1300 (my goal is 1-2 pounds per week). I went from very sedentary to pretty active yet I am not loosing weight like so many others. I see people who have daily goals of 1600 or more and they are able to eat things like chicken nuggets, cookies, hot dogs, etc and still drop the pounds. I am 5 ft 2 in and currently weigh 149.5. I woul like to be 130. I guess i should add that i am over 40 too. What do I need to do or change to get more consistent results. I try to eat a lot of protein as recommended by my trainer. I also try to eat 6 small meals each day. My diary is open for you to look at but please be kind in your critiques. Thanks!

I don't lose real fast either but what helped me was to be sure I was getting enough calories. I eat back my exercise calories. When I didn't eat enough my progress slowed. Also I take at least one rest day a week. I try to get good sleep, drink plenty of water, and take my vitamins. You can friend me if you'd like. Sounds like we're in the same boat

    Increase your calorie intake.
  • are you eating back any of your excercize calories? You might need to increase your calories. Its hard to get your mind around the concept of eating MORE to lose but it is often what ppl need to do. Plus protein is a factor for many ppl. You also might be adding muscle so while the scale is not moving your body is getting smaller. These are some reasons. I would say that if you are not eating back some burned calories that you might give it a try.....eat atleast half of your burned calories....I eat most of mine...

    good luck

Eat more! You're asking the car to travel further in tougher conditions with WAY less fuel.

Considering your BMR is 1309, and you don't mention feeding your workouts as others have recommended, you have managed to suppress your metabolism by constantly underfeeding it.
You are feeding at or below it, not even counting exercise.

So your real BMR is probably closer to 700-800 now, since that is what you have actually been leaving your body to work with.
Since that isn't enough for basic functions of life at healthy BMR, it slowed them all down.

So now, you actually don't burn as many calories as you think in exercise, and your deficit actually no longer exists.

So you can either follow the wise advice already given to eat more, or keep eating less and working out more. Please know it will slow down again, and then what?

Be prepared, if you have not been hungry, then as you increase, the body is likely to see this as a gift and hold on to it, instead of increasing the metabolism. It may take a week or two.
Or you could luck out, and be at 3 days.
