I am going camping this weekend and will have limited ways to make and cook my food. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should bring as far as healthy food. Its a 3 day trip and we camp pretty hardcore, just bushes and a bonfire ADVICE????

Depending on how active you are you may need to replenish calories from hiking/biking or whatever.
We usually have Eggs or breakfast burrito's in the morning. We've recently used pre-cooked pouches of chicken to add to a sandwich wraps, salad, etc.
And for dinner we usually find something the kids can cook over/in the fire. Maybe turkey or chicken hot dog. Turkey burger hobo dinner style (patty wrapped in aluminum foil with veggies and cooked in the fire).0 -
PB & Jelly, Bread, Fruit, Tuna (you can get the packs that you just tear open), Trail mix. (I just recently made some by mixing a bag of regular trail mix and half the bag of Kashi heart cereal, it was pretty good, and helped cut down on the trail mix calories).
I'm assuming you'll have a cooler. Do you bring any kind of cooking pans? My mom would always bring a grill top you could throw over the fire, a coffee kettle, and one pan. That way we could still cook things like eggs/ bacon/ sausage etc over the fire. And then we could also grill up some steaks or fish (if we caught any) for dinner....
Those are the "healthier" ideas. Then there's always hot dogs roasted over the fire on a stick... LOL0 -

We do 5 day hiking trips. We take tuna and chicken packets, beef jerky, trail mix, dried fruit, some real fruit (oranges, apples), string cheese, precooked sausage and tortillas for wraps, canned vegies and beans, etc. A lot of times we take dried camping food which you can get at most sports stores. Just add boiling water to the bag it comes in and you have a meal! They are high cal but as another poster already mentioned if you are hiking or doing other activities in which you need to replenish your body then they are great!0

Ham steaks are fast and easy, just cook them in a pan over a flame - baked potatoes are low in calories, you can wrap them in foil and throw them in the fire. Also steak, eggs, chicken, and cans of baked beans (although watch the sugar) are usually what we do.0

Kabobs on a grill. You can buy a cheap grill anywhere. Build a fire, let it burn down to red hot coals place the grill over the burning embers and then place your kabobs over the fire. You can use lean beef, pork or chicken, mushrooms, possibly a cherry tomato or two and a bell pepper. I like adding pineapple chunks. Place the mushrooms next to the meat and they take on the flavor of the meat. Season to taste. If you find a good marinade you won't even have to season them. Watch out for sodium intake. You may even find yourself with enough calories left to place on a bed of brown rice. Or throw all of the ingredients into aluminum foil with a TBS of olive oil and cook each side 10-15 mins depending on how hot the fire is.0
