Hello all... I am looking for a drastic change in my lifestyle... My birthday is tomorrow, I will be 45... I was very active in my 20's but from mid 30s on I have led whatever life I have wanted... Im often told that I am not fat but I am not skinny either...

My fiance and I are looking to shed some major pounds... We are going to do it TOGETHER... Right honey??
So why the change? Well several reasons...

First off I had a heart attack when I was 42, high cholest and a blockage... Now I am on meds daily and have a stent... lucky for me there was no permenant damage...

Secondly, My father is presently on a ventilator and it has given me a real scare, he is 64 and way too young for his condition... no excercise, smoking and excessive drinking have landed him there...

My last and most important reason... my children, I have 5 of them and one step daughter... I want to be around to enjoy grandchildren and retirement...

I really hope this helps.. it feels right... So here we GO!!!

My children are a huge motivation for me. I'm twenty-seven and I have always been overweight and/or obese. Just recently (the last year or two) I have really been able to see a decline in my body and abilities. It was time for change a LONG time ago but I can't rewrite the past. I'm making the change now and have lost 22 pounds in six weeks. It's a long hard road but, like you, I want to be here when I have grandchildren. I want to retire and have time with my husband. I want to take control of my health. Good luck to both you and your wife. Welcome aboard. :)
